SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Nebraska edged San Jose State for the team title here at an NCAA Regional Gymnastics meet on Saturday.

The Cornuskers were paced by all-around winner Jesse DeZiel who scored 39.4 points, .025 ahead of teammate Janelle Gbilin for the crown.

Nebraska scored 196.525 points to top runner-up San Jose State's 193.4. Utah was third with 194.65 and Iowa State sixth with 183.3.

Jennifer Lauer, a freshman from Sioux City East, took third in the balance beam with a 9.80 score and finished in a three-way tie for fifth in the vault with a 9.85 score. Lauer's twin sister Amanda is also a member of the NU gymnastics squad and has been sidelined by injury.

The NCAA Gymnastics champoinships will be held April 20-22 in Duluth, Ga.
