The "First Class Cat Attack!" catfish tournament will be Saturday on the Missouri and Big Sioux Rivers.

Headquarters for the even will be the Sioux City Municipal Boat Ramp.

Anglers will blast off at 7 a.m. and return for weigh-in at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Entry fee is $100 for each team with an optional $10 for the big fish pot.

First place winners are guaranteed $2,000 and if the winners are not Carters they will receive a $1,000 bounty offered by First Class Credit Union, a major sponsor of the event.

A member of the Carter family has won the tournament in each of its five years.

Cash payments will be made through sixth place, more if over 30 teams register. Door prizes will be given seventh through 15th place.

Teams will be limited to 10 fish with a 12-inch minimum length limit.

A mandatory rules meeting will begin at 6:30 a.m.

There will be drawings for additional door prizes at the weigh-in. Door prizes include a trolling motor, depth finder, rods and reels, tackle boxes, gift certificates and more.

Also new this year is a contest for kids. Two 20-inch bikes will be given to the boy and girl who come closest to guessing the weight of the big fish. Children must be 12 or under and present at the weigh-in to win. Guesses may be entered on the web site: or at First Class Credit Union.

Many other kids prizes will be given away. A free Cookout and drinks will be provided for the public beginning at 3 p.m.
