AMES, Iowa – No. 22 Iowa State closed out the regular season with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 win over Texas Tech Saturday afternoon at Hilton Coliseum on Senior Day.
The win moved the Cyclones to 21-6 for the season, 11-5 in Big 12 play, while Texas Tech is now 15-14 overall, 4-12 in league play.
ISU’s win, combined with Kansas’ loss to West Virginia, put the Cyclones in a tie for third in the conference standings at 11-5. This marks the ninth-straight season ISU has finished third or better in the Big 12.
Iowa State was led by Grace Lazard, who recorded 12 kills, while Samara West had 10 kills at a .381 hitting percentage. Monique Harris had a double-double of 38 assists and 16 digs, while Jess Schaben had a career-best 23 digs in the win. Former MOC-Floyd Valley standout Alexis Conawa had six kills and eight digs.
The Cyclones will now await the selection show for the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
