SIOUX CITY | Damp, wet conditions will continue through the rest of the day today, with showers and drizzle expected off and on into the afternoon.

The rain will add the Sioux City's 24-hour total of 1.73 inches recorded at Sioux Gateway Airport.

Tuesday's high is forecast at 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

Siouxlanders will get a short break from the rain on Wednesday, as skies clear and temperatures again reach the mid 60s.

Rain is expected to return on Thursday, with a 70-80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs again will be in the mid 60s.

The damp weather is forecast to extend into Friday.

Drier conditions and warmer temperatures are expected to move into the area for the weekend.
