Weekender -- John DeVall & Chris Galinsky

Chris Galinsky throws a haymaker into a punching bag at DeVall MMA & BJJ.

Have you been wondering when the next King of the Cage bouts are going to be underway? Well, fear no longer mixed martial arts-lovin' fanatics, because your patience is about to pay off.

Beginning April 9 at WinnaVegas Casino Resort, King of the Cage will spotlight two kickass main events as well as other scheduled fights featuring fighters from all around Siouxland.

Defending his welterweight amateur world title is Kyle Angerman, a Sioux City native who fights out of Porcelli MMA in Des Moines. Fun fact: Angerman is known in the fighting world as "The Dude," which sort of confuses us at the Weekender because we've always thought The Dude was, like, a pacifist, man.

But no matter. Angerman is scheduled to fight Martin "Creepy" Sellers, a fighter out of Ringgold, Nebraska. Their fight -- as well as the other fights scheduled in the event -- will be broadcast in more than "50 million U.S. households" on MAVTV.

The other main event is a women's 105-pound atomweight title fight. Who are these femme fatales? The first is Elaine "The Puerto Rican Princess" Santiago from Brighton, Michigan, and the second is Andy "CrAsian" Nguyen from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Both women are tremendous fighters with a lot to fight for.

Other fighters on the card include Nick Rogers, Jorge Serrano, Drako Rodriguez, Chris Galinsky and many more.

The doors open at 4:30 p.m. The fights begin at 6 p.m. Reserve seating and ringside tickets are on sale right now. To purchase your tickets, call 712-428-9466 or visit Note that the event card may be subject to change.
