Brief Summary: At Mid-Step Services, we are dedicated to providing residential, vocational, educational, and recreational services to people with intellectual disabilities in a caring, supportive environment where each individual is encouraged to reach his or her highest potential.

About Us: Mid-Step was founded in 1977 in response to a community need for comprehensive services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Gary Turbes, Executive Director of Mid-Step Services, started the first Mid-Step program in Cherokee for six individuals with four staff members. Over the years Mid-Step has grown in response to community needs. We currently manage over 20 residential and vocational programs in Cherokee, Lawton, Moville, Sergeant Bluff, and Sioux City IA.
