CLARION, Iowa – June 29, 2026 – A project to replace the bridge over Eagle Creek on Iowa 3 between Clarion and Goldfield requires closing the roadway to traffic beginning on Monday, July 6, until Nov. 3, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Mason City construction office.
During this project, motorists will be detoured around the work zone by traveling south for approximately 5 miles on Wright County Road R-33 to Wright County Road C-54, east on C-54 approximately 10 miles, then approximately 5 miles north on U.S. 69 to reach Iowa 3.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
