SPENCER, Iowa -- Menards recently completed remodeling projects averaging about $2 million per store at its northern Iowa stores in Sioux City, Spencer and Mason City.
The improvements provide more retail shelf space by adding second floor storage space throughout much of each store. The projects started in 2017, with a large drive-thru warehouse to expand our full-service lumberyard.
“We also added a mezzanine for more storage and more shelving so we could add thousands of products; expanded our garden center, which created great displays and space for more landscaping, and lawn & garden inventory; improved our customer order pick-up area, which created more convenience for our customers; and developed a larger assortment of kitchen displays that showcase cabinets, countertops, appliances, lighting and more," said Dale Dickman, general manager of the Spencer store.
“The increase in the number of displays and products is very noticeable when guests set foot in our stores. The reaction has been extremely positive and shoppers seem to really like all the changes we’ve made,” Dickman added.
New, more energy-efficient lighting has been added in all areas as well.
