As new technology advances, Kinetico Water Systems of Siouxland grows along with it, bringing their customers the very latest in drinking water and water conditioning systems. This goes along with Kinetico's slogan of "Water Solutions for a Changing World."
At this time, Kinetico Water Systems introduces the 2020c compact water softener, a bright and colorful solution that is small in size, yet huge in performance.
Equipped with the most advanced features for your convenience, the 2020c provides the benefits of other Kinetico water systems: cleaner skin, softer hair, brighter clothing, fixtures that shine, fewer water spots, less soap scum, and less detergents and soaps. The difference is that the 2020c is powered by moving water instead of electricity. There's nothing to plug in, no buttons to push, timers to set and reset, adjustments to make when the clocks change or the power goes out, and no increase in your electric bill. In addition, the new system regenerates only when necesssary, saving you money.

Another benefit is that the space-saving 2020c contains the salt tank, softener and everything else needed to condition your water; no separate units are required. Check with Kinetico Water Systems of Siouxland to see if the 2020c would work for your family's water conditioning needs.
If your household is still without a quality drinking water system and water conditioner, imagine what it would be like to have clean, great tasting water at your tap and clear ice cubes for your drinks without the residue that hard water leaves behind. Or, think about the savings you'll receive when you use only 2 tablespoons of laundry soap or dishwasher soap instead of the usual cup recommended on the box to clean a full-capacity load.
Homeowners can experience these benefits year-round when they buy a Kinetico drinking water system and water conditioner from Kinetico Water Systems of Siouxland, a provider of quality water solutions for Siouxlanders since 1981. This year, the family-owned business is celebrating a 20-year milestone with Kinetico.
Owner Wayne Hinkley and his wife Susan started out in the water "improvement" business by purchasing a Culligan dealership in Lake City, Iowa (Susan's hometown). Two years later, they changed to Kinetico and have been Kinetico dealers almost exclusively since then. Their daughter, Lorie McKinney of Sioux City, serves as general manager of the business and shares her parents' commitment to Kinetico water systems.
"We never found anything that worked better," Wayne Hinkley said. "We changed to Kinetico because many of the customers we had used Kinetico softeners. They told me it was the only thing that worked in their home."
Hinkley said softening the water in Lake City was difficult. The average well in the town is 600 feet deep, making the water that comes out really hard.
"We learned our business on the toughest water," said Hinkley, who moved to Sioux City in 1990, "but it really showed us how good the Kinetico water conditioners are."
Kinetico water conditioners are effective in the war against hard water because they're non-electric, they have a twin tank design, and their soft water regeneration process requires only 9 gallons of water, 11 minutes and 1 pound of salt (on average, based on the water conditions in your area). Electric water conditioners, on average, may require from 45-50 gallons of water, about 1 1/2 hours and 5-10 pounds of salt.
Being non-electric, Kinetico water softeners are about 50 percent to 60 percent more efficient than electric softeners. They're also extremely reliable. Kinetico water conditioners come with a seven-year warranty and rarely break down, he noted.
"That's because all the moving parts of the conditioner run in soft water, and you put soft water in the brine tank," he said. "You also clean the resin with soft water." Because of their reliability, Kinetico water conditioners are often referred to as the "Maytag" of the water conditioning industry. They're even recommended in Maytag's Answer Book.
The very first Kinetico water conditioner that the Hinkleys sold in 1981 is still in the home and has only required two service calls.
"If you buy a Kinetico water conditioner system, it will (most likely) be the last softener you will buy," he said.
Other water systems from Kinetico protect families from the harmful effects of chlorine. Two such systems are the Kinetico Quad-50 Carbon/Softener and the Kinetico Upflow Dechlorinator 60.
The Quad-50 uses a four-tank system to improve the water that comes into your home. The two bottom tanks have granulated carbon, which absorbs objectionable tastes and odors from chlorinated water. It improves the water's taste and reduces drying of hair and skin from chlorine. The Quad-50's top two resin tanks efficiently remove hardness from the water and soften it.
In households that already have a water conditioner from Kinetico Water Systems of Siouxland, a Kinetico Upflow Dechlorinator 60 can be added to improve the taste and odor of water throughout the home. By using upflow filtration, it helps reduce deterioration of rubber seals in toilet valves, washing machine pumps and faucets, resulting in fewer service calls. The Dechlorinator can be used to remove chlorine from any water supply.
The Hinkleys, members of the state and national Water Quality Association, have sold mostly water conditioners over the years. They added Kinetico reverse osmosis drinking water systems 15 years ago because the public became more aware of their need for better quality drinking water, he said.
Water in Sioux City meets all the federal guidelines for safety, he said, so homeowners don't need to worry about that. However, it has chemicals such as chlorine that cause tastes and odors. That's where Kinetico Water Systems of Siouxland comes in. They improve the city water coming into your home by removing a significant level of chemicals such as lead, mercury and nitrates using Kinetico water conditioners and quality drinking water systems. Their drinking water systems are tested and certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) to reduce significantly the above-mentioned harmful chemicals.
Consumers typically use three types of water: source, working and drinking. Source water is the water used for gardening, watering your lawn and outdoor maintenance - the water as it enters your home. Working water is the water you use to do laundry or run the dishwasher, and drinking water is the water that comes out of the faucet for drinking and cooking purposes.
No matter what type of water you want to use, you can be sure that Kinetico water systems will condition it, or you get your money back.
The benefits you will receive from a Kinetico water conditioner and drinking water system are phenomenal, he said, especially when the two systems are used in conjunction with each other.
Soft, conditioned water from a Kinetico water conditioner will get your dishes, silverware and glasses sparkling clean without extra wiping; it will make your appliances and plumbing last longer; it will make cleaning a snap; and you'll use a lot less detergent to get your clothes cleaner than ever before. The average family of four, he said, can save enough money on cleaning products to own a Kinetico water conditioning system.
The Kinetico drinking water system will reduce heavy metals and compounds to insignificant levels, deliver high quality drinking water so delicious it will be easy to get that suggested eight glasses of water a day, and give you clear ice cubes. It will make your foods and beverages taste delicious because your water will be clean and odor-free.
Why settle for good or better when you can have the best? Hinkley asks.
"Water softeners are not the same," he said. "When you look at the value of our systems, you will find that our systems are competitively priced with others who carry the same (type of) product."
Voted a Best Buy in November/December 1999 by Consumer's Digest, Kinetico water quality systems have such a solid reputation in the water solutions industry that they come highly recommended by Dean Johnson and Robin Hartl from the "Hometime©" TV show.
Part of the reason is the education process that goes along with selling the Kinetico systems. The Hinkleys teach homeowners why their Kinetico systems work, and what the machines are supposed to do.
In addition, they test water softeners to make sure they're functioning properly and check for the following in your water: hardness, iron, nitrates and acidity.
As systems change, the Hinkleys would be glad to show you the latest innovations. In the very near future, look for some exciting new developments at Kinetico that will revolutionize the water purification industry.
