SIOUX CITY -- It took a little longer than expected, but Time Management Systems' construction of and relocation into its new building in Sioux City has been completed.
The new site at 4050 Stadium Drive has cheered employees and enabled the company to expand, said Jen Vanderloo, co-owner, vice president and CFO of the business, which traces its Sioux City roots to 1975.
"It's been wonderful. Everybody has their own office," Vanderloo said.
The company began construction on the nearly 5,000-square-foot building in late spring after hitting a snag. The initial lot the company had chosen was not large enough, necessitating the purchase of the larger site, which Vanderloo said is easily accessible for customers.
"Luckily we were able to stay down here in this area," she said of the new site, which is large enough to accommodate future building expansion.

The company moved into the new building from its former leased location at 3220 Line Drive on Nov. 1. The new site doubled the size of the company's Sioux City operations, which include administrative services, technical support, human resources and billing. The company's headquarters in Sioux Falls houses sales and technical support.
Time Management Systems provides time and attendance solutions, both hardware in the form of time clocks that employ different types of scanning technology to time card software that can be customized and programmed to fit companies of any size. The company also provides door access systems.
The $600,000 building project, aided by a $75,000 tax credit from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, enabled the company to create a new security division. Marketing coordinator Ashley Pugh said the company now offers alarm and video surveillance systems that go along with the door access systems.
The company is also seeking partnerships with payroll companies so that Time Management Systems can offer time card and payroll services all in one package.
"We have been working with other companies, talking to them for the past six to eight months," Pugh said.
Pugh said the company continues to seek to hire technicians and has hired a new IT administrator and a security installer.
Vanderloo's parents, Tom and Carol Rademacher, opened Midwest Typewriter Co. in 1975 on Nebraska Street. As the company evolved, its name changed to Midwest Office Automations when it began selling copiers and printers and developed the time and attendance division. It also moved to Gordon Drive before relocating to Line Drive prior to its most recent move.
Eventually, the Rademachers sold off the copier division and split off the time and attendance division to create Time Management Systems. In 2013, the Rademachers sold the company to Vanderloo and her sister, Melinda Kroll.
