SIOUX CITY | Through the acquisition of an existing medical spa on Historic Fourth Street, Dr. Lornell Hansen has created a one-stop shop for patients seeking a variety of aesthetic treatments, laser procedures or a spa experience.
Hansen, owner of LazaDerm Skincare Centre and Physicians Vein Clinic (previously located in Dakota Dunes), purchased the Rejuvenation Centre, 1119 Fourth St., in April. He merged TrueBody Weight Management, Physicians Vein Clinic and Rejuvenation by LazaDerm in the Historic Fourth Street location. The combined clinic celebrated its grand opening in October.
"When we purchased (the Rejuvenation Centre), we took some of their technology and I sold some of it and moved in a little more gold standard type of lasers and some newer procedures," Hansen explained.
Rejuvenation by LazaDerm provides a variety of skin care and cosmetic services including permanent injectable wrinkle fillers, such as Artefill, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels and liposuction.

The clinic also offers age management, the introduction of certain hormones and/or vitamins lost during the aging process back into the body. As people age, Hansen said, they may experience symptoms including fatigue, depression and weight gain due to the depletion of hormones and/or vitamins.
"Age management is going to continue to grow and grow in the United States because a significant amount of our dollars are spent on the aged, so if there's ways that we can prevent that, then shouldn't we do it?" he said.
Physicians Vein Clinic treats everything from spider veins to varicose veins. Hansen, a board-certified phlebologist, offers endovenous laser ablation, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy and laser vein induction, among other treatments.
"The big wilty veins, we treat those, to the patients who have swelling, aching, heaviness and fatigue," he said. "We're a full-scope vein practice."
TrueBody Strategic Weight Management is a medically supervised weight loss program that provides coaching to clients and instructs them on proper nutrition and caloric intake.
Other than replacing some flooring, Hansen said he hasn't done much to change the 3,500-square foot space.
"I love old buildings," he said.
The waiting area features dark wood floors, a flat screen TV and hues of light plum, sage and beige. Floral art, bamboo plants, comfy contemporary couches, chairs and ottomans furnish the area.
Three patient rooms, a laser room and a procedure room round out the space.
Rejuvenation by LazaDerm employs two receptionists, a licensed practical nurse, a medial receptionist, two vascular technologists and an esthetician. Management positions are based at LazaDerm Skincare Centre in Sioux Falls, Hasen's other clinic.
Hansen said he hasn't decided if he will expand to other locations in the area.
"We're just kind of playing it by ear," he said. "We've been asked to go to other cities in the region. We haven't decided 100 percent if we will, but if the right person comes along then it will be a possibility."
