Scheduling classes around a career can be difficult, especially
for full-time employees, but now managers or aspiring managers can
complete online courses on their own time with Briar Cliff
University's Graduate Management Certificate Program.
The Graduate Management Certificate Program offers five online
courses on employment law; recruiting, retaining and evaluating
employees; workplace diversity; human resource development; and
arbitration and dispute resolution.
Once an individual completes the Graduate Management Certificate
Program, he or she will receive a certificate of completion along
with the option to apply for Briar Cliff University's Master of
Arts in Human Resources Management (MAHRM) program where they will
need just six additional courses to complete their master's
degree.
"Because studies have shown that organizations receive their
competitive advantage through human resources, it is important in
today's organizational environment for managers to focus on
behavioral skills," noted Barb Redmond, business administration
professor at BCU and administrator of the Graduate Management
Certificate Program. With each course available online, students
can complete the Graduate Management Certificate requirements by
working at their own convenience. Classes can be scheduled around
personal commitments and work, especially for managers and persons
seeking management-level positions who are too busy during the
weekday to attend classes in a traditional campus setting.
Students will gain a better understanding of managing employees
through case studies, role playing, conflict resolution techniques
and human resource strategies.
This program gives students the opportunity to earn 15 credit
hours towards a master's degree and the Graduate Management
Certificate in just one year.
