SIOUX CITY — A new business school is coming to the Morningside University campus this year.Â
The Sioux City private liberal arts school announced six major donations of $1 million or more over the past several months for a new school of business.Â
The new building will be located on Morningside Avenue north of the Walker Science Center and east of the Krone Center and Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center.
"The new School of Business building will be a state-of-the-art learning environment designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and excellence," according to a Morningside news release. "It will feature advanced classrooms, collaborative workspaces, and cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and the business community."
In January 2024, Dave Honeck donated $7.5 million to Morningside for "direct student support as well as enhance the student experience and support innovative new programs," according to a news release.
In April, Morningside announced Tom Rosen donated $2 million to the university for the lead gift for the business school. In October, Larry and Joan Arnold donated $1 million to create the "Larry and Joan Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development" for the new school.Â
Jim and Sharon Walker also donated $2 million to Morningside, with half going towards the business school and half to the university's endowment.Â
In December, Regina Roth donated $1 million for a new animal science and food safety lab on campus.Â
In January, an anonymous benefactor donated $1 million for the school.Â
